Class Descriptions

• Introduction to Zentangle

This class introduces you to the concept and method of the Zentangle art form - one stroke at a time. You will learn about the origin of Zentangle, the materials used, and you will learn four "tangles" (you'll also learn the Zentangle lingo!) You will be given the tools and information to move forward on your Zentangle journey! So. Much. Fun.

• Beyond The Basics

This class takes your further into the wonderful world of Zentangle! You will learn several more tangles, which will include some of the more "difficult" or complex tangles. You will learn about tangleations and Zentangle Inspired Art, as well as about displaying your art and DIY gift giving. You'll get just a teaser about the endless possibilities of lettering. You'll be hooked! :D

• Zentangle® + Lettering

This class will unlock a whole new world for you! Lettering as an art form is so beautiful...and FUN! No experience required - Yes! YOU CAN learn how to use decorative letters to make unique and meaningful personalized cards, gifts, announcements, wall art....the possibilities are endless! You will complete a lettering project to keep or give away! You think you can't...but you can! Remember...Anything is possible - one stroke at a time™

• Zendala Zone

This class will teach you that mandala + zentangle = ZENDALA! Zendalas are beautiful, round, symmetrical designs that are filled with tangles. You will complete a pre-strung Zendala, and learn how to create your own. This art form is incredibly relaxing and pleasant - you'll love the outcome, in every way! You will choose whether to incorporate color...or not. Think kaleidoscope. Think poetry on paper. Think ahhhhhhhh. :)

• Holiday/Greeting Card Workshop

This class is available any time of year and will cover techniques and tangles for Christmas, Valentine's Day, July 4, and Thanksgiving, as well as all occasion cards. Each participant will take home two completed cards and learn how to create their own at home. All supplies included, this is a 2 hour class. prerequisite: Intro to Zentangle*                            

                          

• Coaster Class

This class will involve tangling or lettering (monogrammed coasters make an excellent wedding gift!) a set of four 4"X4" coasters. You may choose ceramic tiles or tangle on a Zentangle tile then adhere it to the underside of beautiful etched art glass. Coasters are nicely finished with protective bottoms and sealed tops. What fun, and what a great (and thrifty!) DIY gift idea. All supplies included, this is a 3 hour class. prerequisite: Introduction To Zentangle*

  

• Personalized Travel Mugs

This fun class lets you create just the right mug for you or for a perfect personal gift! Names, monograms, sports or school logos - anything that strikes your fancy - are drawn on the paper insert of a 16 oz lidded cup. Mugs are $5, all other supplies included, this is a 2 hour class. Prerequisite: Intro to Zentangle AND Zentangle Lettering

                                         

• Tangled Garden Class

This class yields beautiful results and is soooo fun and relaxing! Learn several organic tangles that lend themselves to nature and gardens. We use the unique and lovely Strathmore Toned Tan paper, which allows for fascinating, gorgeous white highlights and shading. All supplies included. Prerequisite: Intro to Zentangle NOTE: I am willing (for a small additional class fee) to teach new Zentangle students a one hour Intro class just prior to the Tangled Garden Class. Just emal or phone me to arrange it! 2 hour class

 

• Tangled Garden Flowerpot

We'll use the same techniques and tangles that are learned in the Tangled Garden class, but here we'll tangle a Strathmore Toned Tan paper insert that fits inside this darling 4" acrylic flowerpot. A charming addition to your own indoor garden or a perfect gift! Flowerpots are $5, all other supplies provided, 2 hour class, Intro to Zentangle prerequisite+. 

• Tangled Ink Art

This might be the most fun you can have tangling! We will use a fascinating technique called "blown ink" to create a beautiful free form string. Then we get to play with watercolor paints as you fill in wherever your inner muse tell you. Finish your masterpiece by tangling where it strikes your fancy. This is a blast. Really. You'll LOVE it! All supplies provided, 2 hour class

• All 2 hour classes cost $35 - all supplies included unless otherwise noted 
•  3 hour classes cost $45, supplies included
• Private Lesson for 1-3 people $45 - 3 hours 
• *I offer a Mini Intro Class for students who wish to take an advanced class, but have not had the Intro. It is one hour prior to the advanced class, and you must pre-register. Cost for Mini Intro Class is $15
